JSC “NC KazAvtoZhol” continues to develop infrastructure for electric transport on the country’s national highways. Currently, 43 fast-charging stations are already operating in Kazakhstan, enabling motorists to comfortably travel between regions and making electric vehicles a real alternative to traditional transport.
Where the stations are located
The charging stations are placed along key routes that connect the country’s largest cities and regions. This allows drivers not to be limited to trips within a single city, but to freely plan routes stretching hundreds of kilometers.
Operating charging stations:
- KAZ06 Zhaisan — Aktobe — Almaty — Khorgos — 18 stations, including in Taraz, Kordai, and Almaty
- KAZ01 Yekaterinburg — Almaty — 8 stations (Astana, Karaganda, Balkhash, Burubaytal)
- A-1 Astana — Petropavlovsk — 6 stations (Astana, Shortandy, Akkol, Shchuchinsk)
- A-3 Almaty — Ust-Kamenogorsk — 3 stations (Konaev, Almaty)
- The rest are located in Shymkent, Zhezkazgan, Pavlodar, Kostanay, and other cities
The power capacity of the installations ranges from 80 to 320 kW. This means that an electric vehicle can be charged in minimal time — just a short stop is enough to continue the journey.
Why this matters
The development of the charging network plays several important roles. First, it removes the main barrier to the spread of electric vehicles — the fear of being left without a charge far from the city. Second, the infrastructure helps reduce the carbon footprint of transport, which aligns with global environmental trends.
Kazakhstan is consistently building a system that not only supports current electric vehicle owners but also stimulates demand for eco-friendly transport.
What’s next
KazAvtoZhol’s plans include further expansion of the network. In the coming years, stations will be installed along all major routes, so that traveling across Kazakhstan in electric cars becomes just as common as in vehicles with internal combustion engines.
