The State Revenue Committee has completed the integration of its information systems with the Digital Tenge Platform for processing customs documents.
Pilot participants can use digital tenge to pay VAT on goods declarations and import statements. A timeline for making the mechanism available to all importers has not yet been announced.
Payment status is transmitted in real time
After a payment is made, the Digital Tenge Platform sends its status directly to the State Revenue Committee’s information systems.
Previously, payment confirmation required periodic reconciliation of bank statements. The customs system now receives the information automatically and can continue processing without waiting for the next reconciliation.
Customs declarations can be paid automatically
The system also supports automatic payment of customs declarations. Payment is made once the required conditions are met, and the information is immediately sent to the State Revenue Committee.
The mechanism is expected to shorten declaration clearance times and reduce manual operations for foreign trade participants.
The Digital VAT project will be expanded to importers
The new mechanism will become part of the Digital VAT pilot project. It involves using programmable digital tenge for settlements with suppliers and the state budget.
Expanding the project is expected to make VAT traceable throughout the entire movement of goods, from exporter to importer. The State Revenue Committee also plans to automate tax administration and accelerate VAT refunds.
The committee will continue developing the services with the National Bank, the National Payment Corporation, and second-tier banks. The procedure for onboarding new participants and the project’s expansion timeline have not yet been published.
